About Ging & Lula

My name is Amy, the heart behind Ging & Lula. What started as a simple childhood memory has grown into a love for quilting and the quiet joy of making things by hand.

Growing up, sewing was always part of our home. Many nights I fell asleep to the gentle hum of my mom’s sewing machine in the next room. She made my clothes when I was little, and later she made quilts. Ironically, like many daughters, I wanted nothing to do with what my mother loved. Sewing felt like her thing, not mine.

Funny how things come full circle. When I finally decided to learn to quilt, my mom was right there to teach me. What started as learning a new skill turned into something much more meaningful. Quilting together has become a special way for us to spend time side by side—talking, laughing, and creating.

Ging & Lula grew from those moments, from memory and legacy, and from the simple happiness of making something with your own two hands. My hope is to share that same joy with others and maybe inspire someone else to start their own quilting journey.
